Just back from Alton Towers - fantastic! There was Me, Paul & Chez, Mark and Steph. Started on Oblivion, then moved on to Hex, then Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the Log Flume, The Congo River Rapids, Duel, Nemeis, Air, Spinball Whizzer, Hex again and finally Nemesis again.
Hex is just fantastic (apart from the dull backstory in the first two rooms), but Charlie is a pile of Pants, although the Great Glass Elevator part is OKish. Spinball Whizzer is a riot as well, but I want to live in Hex and have a banquet in there every night!
I learned a lot of things from some the Students on the trip back. They're at college, so they're pretty damn smart. It would appear that:
• Gordon Ramsey or Tony Blair was the US President before George Bush
• an animal that is very large with big flappy ears and grey wrinked skin is possibly a chameleon. or a rat.
• cows do not have tails
• rhino's don't have noses
• Iceland is in Portugal. or Germany,
• Nelson Mandela is a cricketer
• Blue whales are exclusive to Africa and;
• tarantulas feed off birds.
As one of the two bellowing students proclaimed "I'm quite clever actually..."
Just don't get me started on coach drivers... the shame of being overtaken by a coach full of shooolkids. It took an extra hour to get there coz the driver couln't be bothered to use the accellerator!
Anyhoo, it's late and I'm tired, so I'm off to bed!
